Summary of Business Idea
On attempting to pursue a social enterprise agenda with the UK [...], the competition entrant [...] has found that such an agenda has yet to be made explicit. The project that [...] has been driving through is thus turning out to be a “test case” under current [...] funding mechanisms. As such this gives rise to a competition entry with an expressly dual purpose:
(a) to create Aporia CPE as an evolving vehicle for path-finding social enterprise support and funding streams within [...], using the [...] as an initial gateway for analyses through an innovative “Enterprise Fellowship” scheme created by [...] with [...] in this regard; and
(b) to establish Aporia CPE as an actual social enterprise to be launched as a start-up “community interest company” (CIC) in [...].
Having had a chance to sound out this “new” operating mode face-to-face with senior members of the [...], during the 2005 Open Council Forum, and the [...] during the 2-day business planning workshop, it is hoped that this work can be supported by existing research enterprise channels.
