[...] I am writing again to check whether you are still interested in making a presentation [...]
[...] Sorry for delay in getting back to you – have been putting together a form of words to supplement the web links [...] and as with all attempts to outline emergent phenomena in advance, it hasn’t been too easy
But let me have a go now in this here message, and hope this can suffice:
[--]
My online name is Aporia, and offline, I am [...] which is a technology-transfer vehicle set up for social purpose and incorporated in [...]. As an active member of communities relating to both those supported by the [...] and by the [...], I have been pathfinding for social enterprise. One of the ways I do this, is by living through new forms of participation in order to broaden the dimensions of, inter alia, evaluation methods. In other words, developing technologies for social action in the very instances of their use, and having them documented as such for the public good.
I would like to contribute to your forthcoming meeting by sharing a living example of doing exactly this. In this case, I would specifically like to “UnPresent” by way of displaying an “UnPoster” which is essentially a framed artwork on the topic of coining “Emergenomics”. In order to “UnPresent”, I would expressly not intend to stand up and make a foregrounded presentation within a pre-given time slot, but would rather intend to display this “UnPoster” in the background, and only make reference to if it should become relevant in the context of what would otherwise be going on regardless. For example, by participating in the audience during other presentations, a issue may arise where I may be able to contribute by using the example of the UnPoster. Or, during the coffee break, the UnPoster may become a marginal talking point. Or, at the very least, after the event, when it comes to evaluating dimensions of participation, being open to recognising alternative forms of participation such as this, and the impact (or non-impact as the case may be) of accommodating such experiential experimentation, may itself become a small matter of interest
[--]
In short, all I would hope for would be a space to hang my “UnPoster” and then be present as participant in order to be in a position to take it from there [...]
[...] Many thanks for your response. Your manner of presentation shouldn’t be a problem. See you in March [...]
Dear [...] and colleagues,
Hope this message finds you all well [...]
Have just managed to clear [...] on the off chance that am welcome to join you for the [...] showcase event.
Aporia’s WHiSPeRiNG GaLLeRY has proven a success since we were last in touch, including contributions to a number of govt policy consultations by way of case studying relevant material using technology for social action alongside of social action per se.
Our original interaction continues to appear under the following exhibit at:
http://ap0riasofar.wordpress.com/2008/06/05/emergenomics-11/
and it would be great to see you all again if nothing else [...]
Is there still room for one more? [...]
Be good to see you there [...]
